Steve Doel, aboard his new Sherco 290, was the winner at the ATRA trial held at
Blackfoot Park, Calgary, on Sunday, May 4th. It's not often that anyone beats
Chris Tronnes at an Alberta trial!

This year's Joe Brown Trial at Shawnigan Lake, BC - the first event of this
year's Outlaw Series - enjoyed summer-like weather for both days.

Outlaw Dave's classic two-day trial will run May 17 & 18 at Summerland, BC.
This is the 22nd running of the trial, and is the second event of the 2008
series. It will follow its traditional format of vintage and kids on Saturday,
with modern bikes on Sunday.

I see on Dave Rhodes' April 1st

that a bunch of Vancouver Island riders did quite well at the PNTA trial in
Washington state last weekend (March 29 & 30).
These days, the PNTA series is the only high-level trials series in which there
are Canadian riders competing. Last year Wilson Craig finished in second place
overall in the Championship class, with semi-retired Ryon Bell in fourth and
Stan Bakgaard in fifth. The expert class saw Christy Williams finish in second
place overall, with a further seven BC riders within the top 13 places. The
Senior Advanced class went to Bill DeGaris followed by many more BC riders, and
the Advanced series went to BC's Geoffrey Eade, follwed by Andy Motherwell and
Jesse Curtis, in second and third.
Here's what Outlaw Dave had to say:
The Vancouver Island riders had a good result at the PNTA event in Washington
state last weekend. Steve Fracy ( Sherco 4T) won the Expert on Saturday and
got a second on Sunday (giving him the overall lead in the expert class) -
while son Matt ( GG 125) did great in his first Inter
Class ride, just narrowly missing out on the podium. Well done lads! Both
Andrew Watson and Devon Dargis also took wins.

Bell won the experts, followed by Will Duggan and Thomas Cordner.
